Our Local Area

Butterleigh 

The village of Butterleigh is within walking distance and has a Popular Pub- The Butterleigh Inn, serving traditional ales and home-cooked food. A Historical “St Mathew’s” Church ( grade II listed building) and Butterleigh Village Meadow. 

Tiverton

Our nearest local town is Tiverton, only 3 miles away. Boast the Tiverton Museum, Tiverton Castle and the Grand Western Canal (extending for eleven and a quarter miles) offering you beautiful walking, bike or boat hire plus its famous Horse drawn-barge, one of only 5 left in the country. Here you will also find an excellent choice of local independent shops, cafes, restaurants, butchers, bakers, takeaways, banking facilities as well as a good range of well-known supermarkets.

Exeter

This historic Cathedral City is only 10 miles away its one of the foodie capitals of the south west and provides not only wonderful sites including the Gothic Exeter Cathedral, under-ground passages, award-winning Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM) Roman wall and historical Exeter Quayside but also provides excellent high street shopping facilities.

Home to Devon County Council and the University of Exeter. 

National Trust

There is several National trust properties you could visit such as Knighshayes, and Killerton both a 10 minute drive from Pound Farm.

Bickleigh 

For a fun and interesting day out with the family why not visit the picturesque village of Bickleigh (3 miles) The Devon Railway centre has its own model railways, model village and an indoor/outdoor play areas while Bickleigh Mill still with a working water wheel offers retail therapy and a Bistro. Sitting on the picture perfect  River Exe is The fisherman's cot pub/restaurant. Yearlstone Vinyard, Devons oldest vinyard.

If you enjoy pretty gardens you could visit Bicton Park, RHS Rosemoor, Hestercombe. Or the many Ngs Gardens open for charity in our local area.
